Maybe you dreamt about a mysterious and passionate lover, a job that filled you with a real joie de vivre, a beachfront home found only in the pages of the latest glossy magazine or a wild and crazy adventure.
Nevertheless, the thought of that dream throughout the day brought out a special spark deep within and you glowed as the feelings it evoked resonated throughout your being.
And then eventually the dream and the feeling that came with it became faded and forgotten as the days and the drudgery of reality wore on...
The truth is that our dreams have the power to show us a better way, subtlety (or not so subtlety in some cases!) revealing our hidden and untapped potential, our innate brilliance and creativity, our passions and desires as well as inner guidance and solutions to long standing problems.
Our dreams are revealing fascinating things about ourselves each and every night and each dream symbol, image and adventure contains a personal blueprint for improving our daily lives.
All we have to do is pay attention and tune in to these higher messages from within.
A great way is to get creative and dance with our dreams...wherever they may lead us!
Creative dreaming exercises to help shake up your dream world:
For problem solving and insights:
Ask questions and dream the answers – you may be pleasantly surprised at the insights you receive on awakening.
Pay attention - spend time thinking about and remembering your dreams on awakening. Record and analyse any dream themes and symbols and how they relate to your life.
For inspiration and adventure:
Take dream journeys – the universe is your oyster! Ask your dream to take you somewhere special this evening...the stars, underwater, your heart center, the future.
For guidance:
Meet dream beings – in any shape or form. Request to meet your totem animal, a loved one, your future self, a god/goddess or angel. Note any messages you receive.
Design a dream – and create your own outcome.
Map out your own personal dream before drifting off ...especially useful for experimenting with desires, reoccurring dreams and nightmares.
For sweet dreams:
Think positive – dream positive. The last thoughts we have before drifting off often shape our dreams...make sure they are good ones!
For healing and transformation:
Heal yourself – physically, mentally and emotionally.
Focus your dream on anything in need of healing in your life whether it be your body, attitudes, beliefs, relationships, career, finances etc. How do you feel about the situation in the morning?
Remember that your dream world is a direct reflection of your reality and just as, if not more important, than anything that happens in your waking state.
Use creative dreaming as a tool to enrich and improve your waking life. The most important thing is to act on these insights when they reveal themselves.
Take small steps and watch your life transform.
The good news is that you're already halfway there, for as a well-known writer was once quoted: how can you dream it if it's not already within you?
Happy dreaming!
